As you might have known, I’m on a way-too-long break. Holiday is a good thing but when you have too much of something good, it’s not so good anymore. I’m beginning to feel like I’m retreating from the society and shrinking into solitude. Well I love being alone and having adventures on my own but I don’t like being detached from the outside world. Maybe I’m just a conflicting person who is often caught between two extreme ends of my selves. Don’t know where I should stand and that could be because I haven’t really decided which side I belong to.
Anyway, “Adventures in Solitude” is a really nice song by The New Pornographers featured on TV series Ugly Betty and I’m gonna leave you with the scene where the song is played in the background. I just wanna share this beautiful song and Betty’s meaningful narration at the same time. Cheers.
“I’ve had to say goodbye more times than I would’ve liked. But everyone can say that. And no matter how many times we do it, even when it’s for the greater good… it still stinks. And though we’ll never forget what we’ve given up, we owe it to ourselves to keep moving forward. What we can’t do is living our lives always afraid of the next goodbye… because chances are they are not going to stop. The trick is to recognize when a goodbye is a good thing; when it’s a chance to start again.”
